Osteoarthritis is the common cause of the chronic pains for most dogs and has affected one in every five adults ones with double the number for those seven years old and older. Provide the dog with things which would help them in being more comfortable of doing their everyday routine like eating, sleeping and walking. Do not stop with their daily walks though make it shorter and increase its frequency so they can get rest in between each walk. Exercising is important for them still because they may gain weight without it which makes it heavier to carry their body. And this would result with more stress on joints specifically those affected areas.

Remember to have their nails trimmed because when they are too long, their gait changes usually which could cause arthritis and skeletal changes. Use ramp for them to climb into bed, sofa chairs and cars, reducing strain on hips and knees. If moving around is difficult, then think of helping them with wheelchairs, harness or carts.

Consider physical, massage and laser therapy, supplements or acupuncture in improving their current condition. Use a combination of these things to improve their quality of life despite the arthritis. Check with the vet first before these things are given to ensure safety.
