Purism, the makers of Purism Librem laptops, set out to build the first high-end privacy and freedom respecting laptop. To do that, they had to start at the hardware level because they had to select chips that actually will only run with completely free software where the source code is available. They also use their own OS--PureOS, which is a Debian derivative by way of Ubuntu. Company CEO Todd Weaver recently shared more details with Timothy Lord and showed off the latest Purism machines.
